What Is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal program that provides dental coverage to uninsured Canadians with a household income under $90,000. The goal? To make essential dental care more accessible for Canadians across all age groups.
The CDCP is being rolled out in stages and now includes:
Seniors aged 65 and older
Children under 18
Adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate
Adults aged 18–34 (New as of May 15th, 2025)
- Adults aged 55 and over
More adult age groups will continue to be added throughout 2025.
Who Is Eligible for CDCP Coverage?
To qualify for CDCP dental coverage, you must:
Be a Canadian resident for tax purposes
Have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000
Have no access to private dental insurance
Be within one of the currently eligible groups
Now accepting:
- Adults aged 18–34 (as of June 2025)
- Seniors aged 65+
- Children under 18
- Adults with a Disability Tax Credit certificate
